In order to provide diversity in the advent calendar articles, user submissions are required. If you, or someone you know would like to submit an article for inclusion in the calendar, please refer to the guide lines below:
The topic of the article has to be security related. Other than that there are no restrictions on content. Your submission could be a great desktop wall paper, comic, video, etc.
The article should fit on a single webpage without being "too long". Readers should be able to read, absorbs and enjoy the article during their lunch break or similar short space.
The author of the article retains copyright and the security advent article will include the authors name along with a link to their website/linked in profile/etc.The author can use the article on other sites/media, security advent only ask that reuse of the article occur along side or after it's publication on security advent.
The submission should be original. The internet does not need another website explaining how to do a syn scan with nmap.
Readers should enjoy the article, not feel obliged to buy a product/service or forced to work during the holidays to fix the latest security bug.

Submissions will be judged on the above requirements, submissions judged good enough will be short listed. The short list will then be subjected to further selection criteria to ensure the advent calendar delivers a diverse range of security related entertainment, if required, neutral external parties will be consulted.
What you can expect from secadvent.com when making a submission.
Acknowledgement of receipt will be issued for all received submissions.
Where possible the submission will make it to the website without editing from secadvent.
Secadvent will provide details on dates during selection process up to the calendar day your submission will be (if selected).
You will be able to preview your submission as it would appear on the secadvent website prior to Dec 1st.
Submission MUST contain the following information:
Title of your article
Short description of your intended submission or the submission itself.
Your name, handle, url, email/twitter/whatever. Email will only be published on request.
Please send submissions as a plain file attachment(s) (no word/pdf/xls/etc please) to secadvent AT gmail com
